Saw that Oprah received another award for her contribution to the world. Reminded me that I called her a ‘mess’ without explanation.

A political satirist made a snarky comment regarding her feedback to a journalist at the awards ceremony. After having won the award, Oprah said into the microphone (a very close paraphrase): “Many thanks to you all for the recognition for the many hours and hours that I have invested in my work. The struggle to maintain balance. The sacrifice has been hard…the time I’ve spent giving, giving, giving without ever making time to give to myself.”

With that statement, Oprah expressed the crux of what I meant when I said she is a ‘mess’. Though Oprah has gotten a grip on creating wealth by helping others, her ‘mess’ is that she can’t get a grip on her own health and well being i.e. her very critical tug’o war with obesity and whatever emotional angst that enables her condition.

She’s not operating from a place of balance; hence, the struggle with her need to make up for the loss of self-care through food. Interesting how difficult it is to reign in one’s Ego that drives activity outside of ourselves, that drives the need for accolade and attention.

The older we get, the tougher it is to break that pattern with a discipline that brings us back into the moment….chi kung, yoga, tai chi, mindfulness meditation.

In my humble opinion, growing into approximately half personal, introspective work and half helping others is a nice balance a day’s list of “to do’s” for which to aspire. Gives us time to integrate, bring action into alignment with highest values, allows space to work smarter not harder, take healthcare steps for our highest good, among a multitude of other good benefits.

Gives us time to integrate, bring action in alignment with highest values, work smarter not harder, take healthcare steps for our highest good, among other good benefits.

Otherwise, we get swept away… and forget how to make ourselves the first priority. We blow past the red flags….then everything else becomes first… then we can’t live the potential of our fullest lives because we die prematurely, spirits unhappily tortured by sick bodies.

Wishing u all connection to Nature Intelligence for this Holiday Season!
